Gain hands-on experience with the Higher Diploma in Event Management!

Ideal for school leavers, gap years and students who prefer hands-on vocational training, our one-year programme is a highly practical alternative to university, preparing you for entry into the world of events. With extensive face-to-face classes and experiential learning, your course offers a one-month internship, live events and extensive practical experience from venues at a world leading event destination, ExCeL London.

During your course, your class will plan, deliver and evaluate a live event. This offers an invaluable experiential learning opportunity, allowing you to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. You'll also undertake 60 hrs of live event industry practice exposing you to a range of event and venue types to enhance your CV and portfolio. Along with your one-month internship and an individual event concept and design project, your practical programme encourages skills such as project management, problem-solving, communication and teamwork, whilst developing crucial networking connections and industry-specific skills that are often difficult to acquire solely through academic studies.

Through a range of opportunities, the TQUK endorsed Higher Diploma in Event Management course can bridge the gap between theory and practice, offering insights into the dynamic, exciting and fast-paced world of events. Through volunteering, industry placements and workplace shadowing, you can get a grasp of what life in the events industry is really like. Take your learning further with our internship placement

Our one-year, full-time Higher Diploma in Event Management programme includes a one-month internship placement. This offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in an event environment, e.g. with an event organiser, planner, agency, vendor or venue.

The placement is a minimum 20 hours per week for 4 weeks, taking place in June, and will be assessed via a reflective journal and an oral presentation evaluating your professional and personal growth from the experience. You'll have a dedicated course leader who will be available throughout your internship for any guidance, support and mentorship.
